Cordoba Solista Flamenco Acoustic Guitar
I’m a great believer in learning how to play multiple styles of guitar. I think it does a lot for your level of musicianship and helps you to draw different influences so that eventually you can create your own unique voice on the instrument.
One of the best styles to delve into, even if just for a little while, is flamenco guitar. The problem however is that flamenco guitar techniques are often very difficult to master and require years of dedicated practice. Not too many novice guitar players have time, or the stamina, for that.
Instead I’d recommend that you go for Spanish guitar lessons instead. These will give you the same effect but are much more beginner-friendly and easier to do.
What’s Involved In Learning Spanish Guitar?
Well firstly you need to have successfully learned and mastered all the typical beginner stuff of guitar. This means that you should already be able to…
- Change between all the open chords quickly and fluently
- Strum along to beginner guitar songs
- Play some basic finger style guitar patterns
If you’re still on a raw beginner level and can’t do those items listed above then stay away from Spanish guitar until you can. It’s very important that you first take the time to establish a solid foundation on guitar before you move into attempting different styles, especially flamenco!
There are a few very serious courses you can take as well however so I’ll mention them just to make sure I’ve covered the beginner to advanced bases here
